# The Doors Are Open Again — Welcome Back to My Faux French Life

Bonjour, chéri.

I’ve missed you. And if you’re new here — bienvenue — I’m so glad you found your way in.

Two years ago, I had to do something that did not come naturally to me: I had to stop. Health issues came knocking — loudly — and they didn’t give me much choice. My mind, the one that had been buzzing with ideas for this little corner of the internet, went quiet. And My Faux French Life had to wait.

But here’s the thing about dreams. They’re patient.

So let me tell you what this place is, and why I started it in the first place.

I am not French. Let’s just get that out of the way right now. (No beret. No effortless je ne sais quoi. Well — maybe a little.) But I have always been deeply drawn to the French way of living — that quiet, intentional approach to everyday life. The idea that a Tuesday can be beautiful. That you are worth a good meal, a lovely scent, a moment to simply be.

I wanted a place where women could explore that. Where we could try new things, discover different sides of ourselves, and not feel the least bit kooky about it. Because here’s what I know after forty years of working with women: we spend so much time taking care of everyone else that we forget to save a little for ourselves.

Especially once the kids leave the house. Suddenly there’s this space — and we don’t quite know what to do with it. Who are we now? What do we like? What have we been putting off?

My Faux French Life is my answer to those questions. For you, and honestly, for me too.

I want to talk about where you are in your life right now. I want to hear what you’re figuring out. And I want you to know that wherever that is — it’s a perfectly good place to start.
